His vision started getting blurry and his head started spinning. He went to an eye doctor expecting to receive a prescription for a pair of eyeglasses. But what the doctor told Marco Foster on August 2009 shocked him.
Mr. Foster found out that he had brain tumor. His thoughts and feelings started escalating but luckily, it was diagnosed early enough to be taken care off with a surgery. His faith was restored that day and from then on, he has been doing his best to help out others.
“I was a little selfish before I was diagnosed with brain tumor. I was only thinking about myself. But now, I wanna make sure I take time for everything especially with giving back and helping others,” he said.
After his surgery, he started producing events to benefit charity organizations. The acquisitive founder of Chicago Models, a Facebook group, used his own creation as an outlet for great networking online. Every summer, he host/produce “the White Party” benefiting One Hope United in Chicago, IL.
Wondering why this specific organization? The socialite states,
“I was adopted by a great woman, Marjorie Foster, when I was 7. Because of this, I am able to relate to what a Foster child and parent has to deal with. That’s why I believe in what One Hope United is trying to accomplish, a safe home for every child.”
According to their website, onehopeunited.org/, One Hope United is a private, nonprofit human service organization dedicated to protecting children and strengthening families. This event will take place on July 25th 2014 at Parliament. You can purchase your tickets at mfwhiteparty.eventbrite.com
